The Eisenhower Dollar series ran from 1971-1978. It is the last large dollar issued by the us mint.
There are two basic reverses and two basic varieties. The first reverse has a the moon landing as it's theme. An American eagle is landing on the surface of the moon as was said "the eagle has landed".
The second reverse was to celebrate the 1976 bicentennial. It depicts the liberty bell superimposed on the moon.
The first 'variety' often referred to as type 1 shows the inscription 'United States of America with a bold type. The second a lighter or less bold type. Compare the type in our picture provided. See the difference in type?
